Gum cancer, also known as gingival cancer, is a relatively rare but potentially serious malignancy that arises in the gingiva, the soft tissue surrounding the teeth. These abstract aims to provide a concise overview of gum cancer, including its aetiology, risk factors, clinical presentation, and advancements in diagnosis and treatment. The primary risk factors associated with gum cancer include tobacco use, heavy alcohol consumption, and human papillomavirus (HPV) infection. Chronic irritation due to poorly fitting dentures, poor oral hygiene, and certain genetic factors may also contribute to the development of this malignancy
